Quarter 3, Week 8 - Verbals

Our topic was about Verbals, A verbal is a term that is formed from a verb and is used as a noun or modifier (adjective or adverb) rather than a verb in a phrase. Infinitives, gerunds (also known as -ing forms), and participles are examples of verbals (also known as -ing forms and -en forms). A verbal phrase is made up of a verb, its object, and any modifiers. There are 3 types of verbals. First is Gerunds, which are verbs with the suffix -ing that serve as nouns. The second is Infinitives, which are verbals that serve as nouns, adjectives, or adverbs (typically preceded by the particle to). The third is Participles, – which are adjectives that are formed from verbs. It uses the verb's participle (for example, selected) or its present participle (-ing form like caring).

The activities are easy and you can do them right away. I learned that verbal is a verb that serves as a noun, adjective, or adverb in another part of speech. It's also important because it helps us communicate with other people and it develops our language and also grammar. There's none I find difficult, the highlight of the blog is to know the 3 types of verbal.

Quarter 3, Week 7 - Tone, Mood, Technique, and Purpose

Our topic was Tone, Mood, Technique, and Purpose. Tone refers to the author's perspective on a subject, character, or audience. It is accomplished by the use of diction, sentence structure, and word choice. Order (syntax), character's point of view, imagery, metaphorical language, and other elements are all important. To put it another way, tone refers to how the author feels about his subject, character, or setting. And Mood describes the feeling that a reader has when reading a scene or a novel. The atmosphere (the vibe) of a scene or tale is more important than the reader's feelings. Happiness, despair, gloom, rage, distrust, loneliness, or even enthusiasm are all possibilities. The third is Technique, which is a writing style that allows an author to effectively and meaningfully communicate their message to their audience. It differs from one author to the next and is determined by the author's syntax, word choice, and tone. Lastly is Purpose, is the primary motivation for writing. The first is to inform, which usually involves presenting facts or explaining something, such as in a textbook or a news report. The second is to persuade, which usually involves arguing a point or attempting to persuade, such as in an editorial or commercial. The third function is to entertain, which is usually accomplished through the use of a poem, a humorous essay, or a short narrative.

The activities are easy and you can do them right away. I learned that Tone, Mood, Technique, and Purpose, are important and it helps us to understand the meaning of it because Mood and tone are two literary characteristics that aid in the development of a story's core premise. The tone is the author's attitude toward the topic, while the mood is the story's atmosphere. This will assist us in finding meaning in the story or piece, as well as make us feel more connected to the work. There's none I find difficult. The highlight of the blog is understanding the meaning of  Tone, Mood, Technique, and Purpose.

Quarter 3, Week 6 - Literary Devices

Our topic was Literary Devices, Literary Devices is a literary device that allows writers to allude to bigger themes, ideas, and significance in a tale or piece of literature. It's utilized to provide a distinctive effect to their writing, either to deliver information or to assist readers to understand it better. Literary devices are frequently employed in literature to provide emphasis and clarity. There are many different types of literary techniques. The most common are simile and metaphor, which refer to the practice of creating parallels or analogies between two unconnected and contrasting things, persons, and so on. Second, foreshadowing is the use of suggestive words, phrases, and suggestions that set the scene for a tale to develop and offer the reader a sense of what is about to happen without exposing the plot or spoiling the tension. The third technique is a flashback, which occurs when the narrator travels back in time for a single scene or chapter in order to provide further context for the event. And there are many more styles.

The activities are easy and you can do them right away. I learned that there are so many styles of Literary Devices. That each has a distinct function. Some are utilized at the sentence level, while others are used throughout the composition. Writers frequently employ a variety of literary methods in their work. There's none I find difficult. The highlight of the blog is knowing each style of Literary Devices.

Quarter 3, Week 5 - Judging Validity of Evidence

Our topic was about Judging Validity of Evidence. Each and every evidence from the a fiction or nonfiction work that may be used to back up ideas, arguments, opinions, or thoughts is known as text evidence. When we reference textual evidence, we paraphrase, quote, or allude to a specific section of the text to back up or support our beliefs. Finding textual proof, on the other hand, may not be sufficient. The evidence needed to establish that a statement or what is being said is true must be valid. The soundness and power of an argument are referred to as "Validity." There's a way to determine the validity of an evidence. First is question is, who is the author of the source? Second is, how did the source get its information? Lastly is, What if the source you have found does not have references?

The activities are easy and you can do it right away. I learned that in Judging Validity of Evidence that When we listen to or read a text, we evaluate the information to determine whether or not we would trust what was said or expressed. We frequently return to the text in search of proof to back up our statements or assertions. Text evidence is the term for this type of proof. There's none I find it difficult, the highlight of the blog is to judged base on the intended use of the data and should come from various sources.

Quarter 3, Week 4 - Relevance & Truthfulness of Ideas

Our topic was about the Relevance & Truthfulness of Ideas. Relevance relates to the way in which anything is connected to or useful to what is going on or being discussed. It examines the information's significance as well as whether it answers the queries you've posed. The goal and prejudice must be understood in order to establish relevance. On the other hand, Honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity are all characteristics of truthfulness. It implies perfect sincerity and precision in all elements. There is more way to determine what is Relevance & Truthfulness. First is Faulty Logic, The use, and study of proper reasoning is referred to as logic, whereas flawed refers to something that is incorrect or misleading due to defects. As a result, bad logic is a flawed reason. Newspaper editorials, commercials, print ads, books, magazines, and TV shows all contain faulty logic. The second is Unsupported Facts, A fact is anything that has happened or is now happening. Unsubstantiated facts are events that have occurred but for which an individual or a group of individuals has not been able to produce sufficient proof to back up their allegation. The third is Emotional Appeal, The ability to elicit a positive reaction is known as an appeal. An emotional appeal is a type of persuasion that aims to elicit an emotional connection with the audience. It works by stirring the emotions of the audience to motivate people to take action.

The activities are easy and you can do them right away. I learned that Relevance refers to how well anything corresponds to what is being done or spoken at any given time. And Being honest and without containing or telling any lies is the trait of truthfulness. There's none I find difficult. The highlight of this blog is to know how important Relevance & Truthfulness, Because the truth is important to us as individuals as well as society as a whole. Being real allows us to grow and mature as individuals, learning from our mistakes. Truthfulness strengthens social relationships while lying and hypocrisy weaken them.

Our topic was Sensory Images. Sensory Images are a literary tactic used by authors to engage the imagination of the reader on numerous levels. It is the depiction of language employing the five human senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell to convey language. It aids writers in evoking images in the reader's imagination. There are 5 types of sensory imagery, first is Visual imagery, which uses the sense of vision to explain what we are seeing, such as graphic novel pictures, paintings, or images seen straight through the eyes of the narrator. Colors such as blazing red, vivid orange, and dull yellow are examples of visual imagery. Second is Auditory imagery, which evokes and describes the feeling of hearing, ranging from music to noise to complete quiet. Enjoyable sounds, such as lovely music or birdsong, can be used to create auditory images. The third is Tactile imagery, which portrays how we feel by appealing to our sense of touch. Temperature, such as extreme cold, dampness, and pressure are examples of tactile imagery. Fourth is Olfactory imagery, which describes and appeals to the sense of smell. Fragrances, such as fragrances, appealing food and drink, and other olfactory imagery. Lastly is Gustatory Imagery, which appeals to the sense of taste.

Quarter 3, Week 2 - Bias and Prejudice

Our topic was about Bias and Prejudice. Bias is the propensity to prefer one person, group, item, or point of view over another in an unjust manner. And the author purposefully withholds or ignores information that might cast the opposing view in a more positive light (bias); the author consciously presents evidence that serves to tell only one side of an event or issue, purposefully withholding or ignoring information that might cast the opposing view in a more positive light. On the other hand, Prejudice is a negative view or sentiment generated without information, thinking, or reason before it is spoken. It simply means to pass judgment on others before getting to know them. Furthermore, it is an unwarranted or inaccurate (typically unfavorable) attitude toward an individual based simply on the individual's social group membership.

The activities are easy and you can do it right away. I learned that in Prejudice, the author utilizes provocative language, including racial epithets, slurs, and other derogatory terms. Also makes assertions with the overarching goal of elevating (or demeaning) one social, ethnic, national, religious, or gender group above another, or all others. Bias is the manufactures, falsifies and/or dishonestly cites evidence in order to present his or her case a more positive light. There's none I find it difficult, the highlight of the blog is to not be Bias or Prejudice.
