Our topic was Sensory Images. Sensory Images are a literary tactic used by authors to engage the imagination of the reader on numerous levels. It is the depiction of language employing the five human senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell to convey language. It aids writers in evoking images in the reader's imagination. There are 5 types of sensory imagery, first is Visual imagery, which uses the sense of vision to explain what we are seeing, such as graphic novel pictures, paintings, or images seen straight through the eyes of the narrator. Colors such as blazing red, vivid orange, and dull yellow are examples of visual imagery. Second is Auditory imagery, which evokes and describes the feeling of hearing, ranging from music to noise to complete quiet. Enjoyable sounds, such as lovely music or birdsong, can be used to create auditory images. The third is Tactile imagery, which portrays how we feel by appealing to our sense of touch. Temperature, such as extreme cold, dampness, and pressure are examples of tactile imagery. Fourth is Olfactory imagery, which describes and appeals to the sense of smell. Fragrances, such as fragrances, appealing food and drink, and other olfactory imagery. Lastly is Gustatory Imagery, which appeals to the sense of taste.
The activities are easy and you can do them right away. I learned that Sensory imagery is a literary strategy used by authors to engage the imagination of their readers on numerous levels. The five human senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell are explored through sensory imaging. There's none I find it difficult, the highlight of the blog is that important to know what are the five senses of humans.
